This story by Mark Twain was originally published in 1893 in the book The £1,000,000 Bank-note: And Other Stories (available in Google Books). The story was written in Anniversary and serialized in the January to April 1939 issues of The Gregg Writer. It was released in 1954 as a movie (The Million Pound Note), starring Gregory Peck.
Along with this story, there are three additional one-page bonus selections: Chemistry thrives on competition ..., Amateurs, and A Father's Life Experience, this last one by Royal F. Munger, reporter, financial editor, and columnist for the Chicago Daily News.
