British Old Currency

I found this website that explains the old currency of the UK, in case you're reading shorthand books from that era: http://resources.woodlands-junior.kent.sch.uk/customs/questions/moneyold.htm. The site is pretty good, with pictures of the old coins as well. Further, if you want to find out the buying power of old British currency and/or how much yesterday's money is worth in 2005, you can check this site from the UK National Archives: http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/currency/default2.asp. You can go all the way back to 1270!

And to finish off, from Feed the Birds, Mary Poppins's song: how much is a tuppence in today's money?
