I just realized this when reading about the shorthand outlines in gregg. I remember those when I was little, not that little but young.
I was just thinking of those and when I was in 8th grade a friend and I decided to start a diary/journal I got a steno book because the spiral bound top so the pages would stay together. I just ignored the line down the middle.
I just thought I'd share that interesting fact that I just remembered.

PS: It's in a locked box at the bottom of my closet so I don't think I'll be digging it out anytime soon (it's there for a reason)
