Hey, found this little oddity in one of the Gregg Writer magazines that I ordered from ebay (June 1945). Charles Lee Swem. Its a little forward colon type cross out, instead of the scrawled cross out that one usually does when he writes the wrong outline. So have a look.
The translation:
Electrical Fixtures 2.82. Elevator 46 dollars. ["fixtures" crossed out] electrical fixtures 2.77. Plastering 26 dollars. Electrical 3 dollars
