The Scarlet Ibis

This short story by Mary Raymond Shipman Andrews was the first written in Anniversary and serialized in the September to December 1929 issues of The Gregg Writer. As such, there are some outlines that do not conform to the Anniversary standard (a good exercise would be to find out which ones). Like other stories by Mrs. Andrews, this one originally appeared in the August 1912 issue of Scribner's Magazine, and was later published in 1913 in the book The Eternal Masculine: Stories of Men and Boys (both available in Google Books).
