This short story by the American author Albert Payson Terhune, from The Book of Sunnybank (Sunnybank: Home of Lad), was written in Anniversary and serialized in the May and June 1939 issues of The Gregg Writer. Sunnybank, the author's summer home located in Wayne, NJ, is now Terhune Memorial Park, where he bred and raised collies.
