Rader vs Rader

I decided today that the shorthand in Notehand is easier to read than that in the Simplified manual. I was a little surprised to see that they were both produced by the same person, Charles Rader.

The Notehand writing is larger and bolder. That in Simplified is finer and delicate in comparison. (To my eye, anyway.)

I'm guessing this is a side effect of the fact that the Notehand plates are produced in a larger size, since when I compare the two it looks bigger. Are there similar differences visible in other books for which Rader did the shorthand plates?

And does anyone know or suspect which of these is closer to his actual writing of shorthand?
